Atmosphere & service 10/10. Portions very small very a pretty penny. Expect about $100 plus a person. Pasta dishes are good not excellent. Loved the clam pasta and agnolotti with vodka sauce. Beet appetizer was not my taste at all, probably least favorite thing I’ve had in a while. Was expecting earthy with fresh yogurt as described except was way off. Drinks and bartender were excellent. Decent Italian! 4 people and we all split 4 apps, 5 dinners and no dessert, everyone had 2 cocktails each.

Bar Primi: A Valentine’s Delight🌟 Rating: 4.5/5My partner and I visited Bar Primi for a romantic Valentine’s dinner, and it was an evening to remember. Here’s a breakdown of our experience:Starter: Ricotta BruschettaThe ricotta bruschetta was a delightful beginning. Creamy ricotta paired with crispy bread with touch of fresh honey—simple yet satisfying.Primi: RavioliThe heart shape ravioli stole the show. Each slice of pasta was perfectly cooked, and the flavors danced harmoniously. A comforting choice for a chilly February night.Dessert: Gelato with Sorbeti Coffee FlavorThe gelato was a revelation! The coffee-infused sorbeti added a delightful twist. We savored every spoonful, feeling the warmth of the coffee against the cold gelato.Presentation and IngredientsThe heart-shaped pasta and bread were a charming touch. It felt like the chef put extra love into the plating. And those ingredients! Freshness radiated from each bite. It’s as if they were handpicked from a nearby farm just for us.AmbienceNow, about the ambience—I agree. New York City’s space constraints are a challenge for many restaurants. While cozy, and great music I wished for a tad more intimacy. Perhaps dimmer lights would enhance the romantic vibe.OverallDespite the ambience, the food was the true star. Bar Primi’s commitment to quality shines through. We left with full hearts (and bellies) and would gladly return.Bib Gourmand (good quality, good value cooking) worthy for sure. In summary, Bar Primi is where flavors meet love. Cheers to an enjoyable evening! 🍝❤️

I came here with a friend on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was not very crowded but the decor, vibe, and service were lovely. The server ignored the growing ridiculous trend of restaurants telling guests the guests that kitchen prefers guests to order all food at once which made me VERY happy. The food isn’t the best Italian I’ve ever had but it’s certainly well above average. We also shared a bottle of wine. I would go back and recommend.

We had a fantastic 🇮🇹 lunch at Bar Primi today, from start to finish! Professional and friendly staff, and a great cozy environment with some jazz tunes playing in the background. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My favourites: ricotta crostini for starter, and the squid ink campanelle as main course. I’m not a big fan of tiramisu, but this one was really good, and the vanilla 🍦 ice cream was also tasty! Best lunch/dinner by far at this visit in N.Y. We are definetly coming back to Bar Primi! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Extremely delicious food! Didn’t have reservations on a Saturday evening… I know bold! But we got two seats at the bar. It was great that we were seated where the drinks were being made. Management was very hospitable. Our server was decent but she made a great drink! We ordered mock-tails so good! Their lamb spaghetti was perfectly al dente. The burrata was so fresh! Definitely recommend, fun for a group. Intimate for a date night :) recommend making reservations but it’s not the end all of you don’t.

Have eaten at the bar and table on multiple occasions and received great service at both. Prefer eating at the bar as a personal preference. The pasta with lamb is amazing as are the stuffed meatball app. Have yet to have a bad dish on multiple visits. Highly recommend.

Bar Primi's cuisine was a treat. The food and drinks were delicious, the service was good, and the atmosphere was lively. We started with espresso martini's, which were enjoyable, but when it came to cocktails, the real stand out was the fellini. It was a delicious amalgam of bitter and sweet; perfect for the fall. My favorite part of our meal was the clams pasta (we did gluten free). It was a delicious and unique sauce, with just the right amount of spice to take it over the top. The ricotta crostino was delicious for an appetizer, too. The chicory salad was just okay, nothing special. The only qualms I have with Bar Primi were the noise level (it was VERY loud), and the server's request to put in our entire order at once. This new custom of NYC restaurants is off-putting to me; encouraging you to put the entire order in so they can turn the table over as soon as possible. The busboys also circled like vultures and very frequently checked our table to see if we were done; it felt pressuring rather than relaxing. This is NO fault on them as I am sure it is a management directive. As a fellow waitress, I encourage management to rethink these directives with staff as it diminishes what should be a very positive, relaxed dining experience.
